Xbox 360 Successor Waiting In The Shadows?

Rumours are cropping up suggesting that Microsoft may be working on a Xbox 360 successor already. Fuelled by a recent spot of a Microsoft patent for a powerful gaming hub, the patent strongly suggests that Microsoft maybe working on a 'multi-component gaming system' which can perform as the central controller to networked enabled devices. Much like the PSP can access the PS3, this would mean users will have the ability to link a Windows Mobile phone, Zune MP3 player and Windows Vista PC, with each device adding its processing power to the distributed computing system.
