Will Xbox 360 Users See the Silverlight?
Watch out! A slew of interactive ads may soon appear on your Xbox dashboard. Microsoft intends to integrate its Silverlight framework (similar to Adobe Flash) to the Xbox 360. This support will allow companies to easily carry advertising from Silverlight-enabled platforms over to the Xbox 360 and allow a synergistic approach to marketing on multiple fronts.
Microsoft will give companies the opportunity to advertise on the Xbox Live Dashboard and provide consumers with rich interactive ad content similar to those found on the web.
Silverlight offers a new and better option for video streaming to the Xbox 360 as well as mobile devices and computers. Netflix is a current client of Silverlight and uses it to stream video.
