The Most Expensive Xbox 360 Ever Created

xbox_expensive_icon.jpg

At nearly $17,000 USD, this is most probably the most expensive Xbox 360 we've ever seen. The fact that it has a killer, liquid cooled PC gaming rig built around it goes part of the way toward explaining the high price tag. But a good percentage of the cost is undoubtedly due to the badass case design and visible cooling system, which looks like the fuel injection system from a high performance sportscar.

The computer maker Origin is selling the PC-360 hybrid, which comes in two configurations. A less expensive ($7900) version contains Dual Nvidia GTX480 graphics cards, 6 GB of fast Corsair RAM and an Intel i7 930 processor overclocked to 4.0 GHz. The big money gets you double the RAM, Quad SLI EVGA graphics cards and a Dual Xeon processor capable of 4.3 GHz. Both versions come with the aforementioned liquid cooling system, built-in 360 and a personalized name plaque. Considering that just one of those Nvidia cards can run Crysis on full detail, you are looking at a gaming rig that will be future proof for a long time to come.

Price wise, this is a total rip-off. A quick look at computer parts suppliers shows that one could by a comparable PC, all of the major video game consoles and a 50 inch 3D TV to play on before coming anywhere near Origin's price tag. But that's not really the point of this showy beast, is it?

Trust us, there's an Xbox 360 wedged in there somewhere near the bottom right.
