Skyrim Update Headed To Xbox 360 With New Patch

Bethesda, the makers of the hit Elder Scrolls franchise, have confirmed that an update is on the way to its popular game Skyrim on the Microsoft Xbox 360, as well as the Sony PlayStation 3.
Skyrim will be receiving a patch, named patch 1.7 on both the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 in the next week or two.
The company Bethesda has confirmed that the Xbox 360 will receive the update tomorrow, August 9th.
This will be the case for all Xbox 360 owners around the world. The update will also be available to Sony PlayStation 3 owners in North America tomorrow as well.
For those of us gamers who reside in Europe and are Sony PS3 owners, we will have to wait a bit longer.
The Skyrim 1.7 patch will be released on the Sony PS3 in Europe next week.
The news was broken by none other than Pete Hines of Bethesda, via his Twitter page.
He sent out a Tweet stating, "Just got word that Skyrim 1.7 update will be out this Thursday for 360 (Worldwide) and PS3 (N. America). PS3 Europe is expected next week."
This is a pretty significant patch and update for Skyrim gamers who have been pouring their gaming lives into this game since it launched.
Xbox 360 users will get improved Kinect voice recognition, as well as gameplay optimization.
Sony PS3 owners are going to be receiving a pretty significant update in the form of the addition of mounted combat, something that is already available on the Xbox 360 version of the game.
So gamers in North America, if you own an Xbox 360 or PS3, get ready to download because tomorrow is the day you have been waiting for to get your Skyrim update.
What are your thoughts about the patch? What do you want from Bethesda in future patches to the hit game?
Elder Scrolls V Skyrim was released last November, and is clearly still running strong almost a year into its existence. The game does not appear to be slowing down in terms of popularity any time soon.
