Michael Phelps took the world by storm in the last Summer Olympics, and now is ready to try and conquer the Xbox 360 Kinect with his very own video game focused on, you guessed it, swimming.

As soon as you boot up this game, you are immediately greeted with a warning that you should be cautious when playing this game due to the physical nature of it, and they are not kidding.

This is not a game for the lazy, as you take part in all four major swimming strokes in speed as well as endurance races.

This may sound cool to some, but you have to understand that this can actually get quite tiresome.

The gameplay implementation here kicks off with a mini-game to start each race, helping you get a quick start, or harming you with a slow start.

From there it is all about your arms and performing the strokes to the best of your ability. The game works well, but the gameplay lacks depth and variety to really keep things interesting beyond the first few races.

Visually you have a pretty decent-looking game, but the water physics certainly could have been improved.

Audio is a nightmare, as you get this one techno track that players over and over, with nothing else to spice things up.

The main game mode included is a career mode that will have you improving your swimmer as you progress. The mode can get tiresome though as it is trial-and-error. Lose a race and you simply do the race over rather than having to take a step back in your career and start over.

There are quick races as well as local and online multi-player, but that gets old pretty quickly.

After it is all said and done, Michael Phelps Push the Limit for the Xbox 360 Kinect is once of those niche releases which is cool in concept, and fun for about 20-minutes, but after that it gets boring. Best kept as a rental for those who are curious.
