Marvel vs Capcom 3 May Be Released Soon

Recently we got half off deals for Marvel v. Capcom 2 on both XBLA and PSN. What prompted this move? Perhaps it was a marketing ploy to remind us of how much fun MvC2 is. I certainly downloaded the game and played it again.

Could it be a shrewd move to promote the upcoming release of Marvel v. Capcom 3? If sources are to be believed, this might a distinct possibility -- a game that's been a decade in the making... and well worth the wait.

The rumor comes from website Team Spooky and is backed by a reliable poster that correctly predicted the entire Super Street Fighter IV roster.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars producer Ryota Niitsuma revealed to Katuko earlier this year that "I would love to do more versus series, more types of games like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. There are all of these possibilities working with other companies, seeing what we could do with them. There are so many game companies I'd love to work with. If sales are really good (for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars) then you can see an announcement within this year."

Considering the fact that Capcom is hosting a big news event next week in Hawaii, chances are good that we'll hear a huge announcement. Let's hope MvC3 is a reality.
