LOTR White Council images, BFME II patch

EA today released some new images for their upcoming Xbox 360 title The Lord of the Rings White Council. These images, shown below, were put out by the video game developer in their September 2006 The Lord of the Rings Insider newsletter. The eagerly awaited open world LOTR RPG is described in the newsletter as creating "your own personal story in a time when ancient monsters still roamed the world and sacrifices by heroes decided the fate of those that lived the land. As a man, an elf, a dwarf, or a hobbit, your hero will ally with the White Council, whose members include the famed characters Gandalf, Saruman, Galadriel, and Elrond.”

In The Lord of the Rings The Battle for Middle Earth II news, also talked about in the newsletter, is word of a mid-September game patch and also the Aragon’s Journey Map Pack. This map pack is usable in the game and available now in the Xbox Live Marketplace for 350 Microsoft Points. It consists of three multiplayer maps, letting players wage battle in locations from the films such as Weathertop and Argonath. The patch, meanwhile, brings the game to version 1.01 and, according to posts in this GameSpot thread, "the main issue it will address is the nagging disconnect issue".
