GameStop Announces Partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation

GameStop, the world's largest video game and entertainment software retailer, is encouraging customers to share the power of a wish(R) in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation this holiday season.
As part of a two-pronged initiative, GameStop has donated 200 shopping spree wishes for wish kids across the country. Also, beginning nationwide today, GameStop customers can visit www.gamestop.com/makeawish to make their donations to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation while browsing or shopping online this holiday season. The program runs through the end of 2007, and donation amounts are available from $5 to $100.
"GameStop is honored to partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation as it underscores how powerful a wish experience can be for a child with a life-threatening medical condition," said Dick Fontaine, chief executive officer and chairman of GameStop Corp.
"The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted 13,000 wishes last year, and more than 1,000 of them involved computers, electronics or game systems," said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer. "This wonderful partnership with GameStop will bring even more joy to the courageous children we serve."

About the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R)
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Born in 1980 when a group of caring volunteers helped a young boy fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer, the Foundation is now the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 67 chapters in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, the Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish every 41 minutes and has granted more than 153,000 wishes in the United States since inception.
