Forget About Mass Effect 3 Xbox 360 Cloud Saves, Not Happening

One of the highly-touted features of the Xbox 360 is the fact that Cloud storage is starting to be fully embraced. What this would allow is for you to be able to take your save file from your hard disk drive, and save it to the Cloud. What we have learned though, is that Mass Effect 3 will not allow this.

The idea with Cloud storage for video games is that you can save your game file to the Cloud, go to another Xbox 360 console, and download that same save file and continue your game.

This saves games from having to carry around hard drives, or even memory cards in some instances, as some gamers still utilize these cards for that purpose.

We have learned though that the upcoming Mass Effect 3 is not going to support these save files.

This is causing an issue in the gaming community as many Mass Effect 2 gamers decided that they wanted to save their save files to the Cloud on Xbox 360.

With Mass Effect 3, you have the ability to import your prior save file from the past game and continue onward.

If you have saved your file to the Cloud though, you are not going to be allowed to import it to Mass Effect 3 on the Xbox 360.

There is going to be a work-around, but it is likely to confuse many gamers out there who are dealing with an issue such as this for the first time.

In order to get a save file to work on Mass Effect 3, gamers are going to have to first and foremost go out to the Xbox 360 Cloud, and save the file back onto the original hard drive where the file was created for the first time.

Once you have it back on the hard drive, you would then be able to import it into Mass Effect 3 on the Xbox 360.

If, however, you want the save file to be saved on a new Xbox 360 console, you are going to first have to download it to the original Xbox 360 hard drive, and use a transfer method to get it to a new console, such as the use of a memory card.

There is no word just yet as to why EA is not going to support the use of the Xbox 360 Cloud storage for Mass Effect 3, but it is discouraging to say the least and is going to cause issued at launch with gamers.

Thankfully, we all have some time to figure this out prior to the release of Mass Effect 3 so that we can gain an understanding of how all of this is going to work prior to its release.
