Final Fantasy XIII Box Art: Your Thoughts?
Well, it's finally here: the official box art for Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360. The game surprised many when it was announced to be a multiplatform release at E3 in 2008. Now, more than a year later, we get our first look at the retail packaging that will accompany the game on its simultaneous PS3 and Xbox 360 launch on March 9, 2010. Below you will see the official design for the European box art of the Xbox 360 version (the PS3 box looks almost identical).
The artwork is very sparse and minimalist, in keeping with other recent Final Fantasy box designs. It features a full body portrait of the androgynous female heroine wielding a mechanical looking sword. An elaborate logo spells out the words Final Fantasy XIII to her right.

I think that sword is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. What is it suppoed to be? A gun? A utility sword that also opens hard-to-access bolts?

Umm..Eddie, if indeed it is a sword/gun, it could be a relative of Squall's Gunblade from Final Fantasy VIII. Another thing, you could never be as awesome with a weapon, as she is right there on that cover.
