Fallout 3 DLC Announced, PC Version Gets Editor

fallout3_DLC-icon.jpg

Bethesda dropped a megaton's worth of news on Fallout 3 fans today, as the studio announced that its post-apocalyptic RPG will soon getting a whole lot better. Both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game will get new downloadable content starting in January. Two more downloadable content packs will come in rapid succession every month after that. The PC version will also receive a game editor, allowing players to craft their own experiences and tweaks for the full game. The user-created mods that came out for Oblivion were some of the best around and added hundreds of hours of extra playtime for true fanatics.

Xbox 360 owners are probably itching to hear more about what will be in the DLC. So far, we only know a few details from Bethesda's announcement, but what they have planned so far looks fantastic. Players who download each of the packs will be able to explore places outside of the Washington DC area and interact with new characters. Here are the descriptions of each of the planned DLC episodes:

Operation: Anchorage: Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe – the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January.

The Pitt: Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side. Scheduled for release in February.

Broken Steel: Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March

All we can say is Hells, yeah.
