Crysis 2 and Xbox 360 dominate the market

PC gamers already had their share of enragement when it was announced that Crysis 2 would be released on all three major platforms. A game (Crysis) that was once used as a measure of someone's PC power, has now been flattened out for the average console gamer.

From a greedy PC gamer stand point it's valid. From a marketing, we want to make money view, it made perfect sense. Crysis 2 is already EA Games largest seller of the year. A whopping 57% of all sales of Crysis 2 were for the Xbox 360, with the PS3 taking in 29%, and ironically the PC taking in a measly 14%.

Now keep in mind that digital copies were not counted in this percentile for sales, so there is a big chance that the PC could have a bigger chunk of the pie. Many PC gamers like to buy their games digitally through services such as Steam where they can simply download the game.

With other major releases in this first quarter of the new year, such as Dragon Age 2 and Dead Space 2, Crysis 2 has outsold both games. Crysis 2 looking like a new console specific title seems very likely, and the sales figures baffle the PC gamers. But does that mean this is a good game? After all the arguing and tears shed by PC gamers, is this game even worth arguing over.
