Circuit City charging for backwards compatibility

circuit-city-t.jpg

Circuit City is in the cross hair of irate gamers today because of a backwards compatibility service they are selling to Xbox 360 owners for $28.99. The service promises to install this backwards compatibility on your gaming console, which is something that can be done for free either through Internet connectivity or by calling Microsoft to have backward compatibility software mailed to you. Gaming blog Kotaku has more of the lowdown on this shady offering.
