The wait is over - Batman: Arkham City has launched throughout Europe.
To celebrate, last night Batman was positioned high above London, as these stunning images show.
Below, the Capital was gripped by Batman fever as Freemason's Hall in Covent Garden was treated to a spectacular light show, with Arkham City imagery projected onto the front of this historic venue.
Videogame stores opened at midnight, providing copies to eager gamers desperate to get their hands on this hotly-anticipated title.
Batman: Arkham City is one of the highest-rated ever videogames, according to reviews aggregator Metacritic.
The wait may have been long, but it was certainly worth it.
