Banjo and Kazooie Demo Hits Xbox Live
Xbox 360 owners got a nice surprise this morning as Rare released a demo of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts on Xbox Live. This demo comes as a complete surprise, and was not announced before hand by either Rare or Microsoft. Fans of the franchise are undoubtedly excited to get their hands on this game, which is slated to arrive on November 11. The only impediment to your enjoyment of this demo is that is is currently available to Gold members only. Sorry, Silver gamers, you will have to wait 7 days to get your hands on this. The file weighs in at a hefty 1.1 GB in size, so those of you on a slow connection may also have to wait a while to get your hands on it.
The Banjo-Kazooie demo is huge and contains both single player and multiplayer content. The demo includes the central hub Showdown Town, as well as one complete world to explore called Banjoland. Players can also try out some limited vehicle-creation tools while in the town.
Graphically, the demo looks gorgeous: textures are highly detailed, and the game features a vibrant color palette. Unfortunately, there is considerable framerate slowdown whenever the player approaches a body of water, something that developers are undoubtedly working on cleaning up in the final build. For the moment, this affects the multiplayer portion of the demo, since the only playable area is in a water environment.
