Microsoft wants you to sign up for Xbox LIVE. You're thinking, "Money is tight. Is it worth it?" We've wondered this before and even argued shouldn't it be free. Well, here's your chance to do just that and test it out for free. Like millions of LIVE subscribers, you probably haven't heard of this promotion before. But don't worry, we've got your back. Follow these instructions and you'll be curb stomping your friends over LIVE in no time:

01) Make sure you are not a current Xbox LIVE Gold member
02) If you are a Silver member, sign out of Xbox LIVE by going to the dashboard and pressing X
03) After your system restarts, go to Game Marketplace and press A
04) Press A on the "Join Xbox LIVE" button
05) If prompted to Exit Session, press Yes
06) Press the "Sign Me Up" button to proceed
07) Turn on your PC and create a new hotmail account
08) Return to your Xbox and sign up using this new email account
08) When asked if you want to sign up for a Gold account, refuse and select the free account
09) Congratulations! You will receive an offer for 1-month free Gold membership.
10) When your 1-month trial ends, repeat steps 01-09 for another free month of Gold membership *

* Note: Each Xbox will qualify for only 3-5 free trials. So if you've used them up, the only way to get more free trials is to buy a new Xbox.
