2010 Golden Joystick Winners
This year's Golden Joystick award winners have been announced, and Mass Effect 2 took the top honor, being crowned "Ultimate Game of the Year". But there are many other categories for voting, and some other great titles were recognized by the awarding body, now in its 28th year. Forza 3 managed to take racing game of the year, a victory made easier because Gran Turismo 5 wasn't out yet. Assassin's Creed 2 also managed to snag an award for best action game.
Plants vs. Zombies from Popcap Games also netted two Golden Joysticks, winning "Download Game of the Year" and "Strategy Game of the Year." Activision's seemingly unstoppable Call of Duty franchise, continued its annual winning streak with 2010's third double, bagging "Shooter of the Year" for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and "One to Watch" for the forthcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops - releasing on November 9th.
