NFL Blitz is one of the most beloved sports franchises in the history of gaming, and it has made a comeback thanks to EA Sports in the form of an Xbox Live Arcade release.\n\nEA Sports was released this month on the Xbox 360, and features online multiplayer for up to 4-players, as well as the ability to play co-op with your friends.\n\nArcade football has been absent from our lives for too long, as the past releases of NFL Street and Madden NFL Arcade simply have not cut it.\n\nNFL Blitz is a return to the game's roots as you will be getting a real sense of nostalgia performing the huge tackles, big plays, and catching on fire.\n\nThe main mode in the game is the Blitz Gauntlet and is your standard ladder system where you play through every team in the game, including special boss teams that you will unlock.\n\nBeyond the offline modes, there is also a very strong and deep online mode including Blitz Battles. Blitz Battles include ranked head-to-head matches against gamers online. Winning a game will reward you with Blitz Bucks which you can then use to purchase in-game items.\n\nThis is a great little addition that makes for a pretty deep experience. You can even take part in the Elite League mode, which allows you to take more of a GM role trading players with other users.\n\nVisually NFL Blitz looks great on the Xbox 360 as the game is extremely smooth, and the player models as well as animations are strong throughout.\n\nAnyone who has ever played NFL Blitz before will immediately understand how to play this one, as the basic buttons have returned with an action button and turbo button, very easy and enjoyable.\n\nMy only complaint with NFL Blitz is the fact that you are unable to perform tackles on players after the play is concluded, a big letdown as it was a blast to do leg-drops on the opposition after the play.\n\nNFL Blitz is a great arcade sports experience and is oen of the better Xbox Live Arcade releases of the year.
