Forza 4 - arriving soon to a Xbox near you
As the highly anticipated follow up to Turn 10's critically acclaimed racing simulation series slowly draws closer to its release date, lets do a quick recap on what we already know to expect from the Forza Motosport 4.
To be released exclusively for Xbox 360 Kinect, it is part of a larger stream of releases for Microsoft's motion-tracking platform that is meant as a challenge to the game changer status of the Nintendo Wii. Forza 4 is expected to be quite good for popularizing the platform beyond it's current posse of disgruntled adopters who are facing a lack of content.
One of the most anticipated features in Forza 4 is the mode where you can go inside the sports cars and explore them. You can things you have always dreamed of doing inside a beastly powerful Ferrari fresh off the racing track. You can push the buttons you have always wanted to push and check out places beyond the limited view of the cockpit mode.
But the gameplay itself might leave a lot of hardcore gamers unsatisfied because it features a mode where you can just forget about everything else and just concentrate on your steering. That means no manual acceleration and brakes. The rationale behind this mode is to pass as many cars as you can before running out of time. Might be a handy feature but that will only be clear once gamers everywhere have had a chance to tear it up on the asphalt.
When it comes to graphics, there's not a finger that you can lay on it -- Forza 4 looks simply amazing. The artwork videos have been around since last year and they all look fantastic.
Turn 10 has even talked about their experiments with the headcam view where you can move your field of vision on screen by turning you own head. This of course happens through Kinect's motion tracking abilities, which track your movements through space. So the level of immersion in the game is about to go up by quite a few notches, especially if these early reports are to be believed.
