Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Video Preview

This game snuck entirely under our radar to drop a big fat bomb of excitement in our laps this week. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a new tactical action game from developers Ninja Theory and published by Namco Bandai Games. The great thing about hidden gems like this game is that we don't have long to wait after hearing about it: Enslaved is set to release for the Xbox 360 next week. The video interview below gives a good sense of what the game is about, including the origins of its story, which is loosely based on an old Chinese text. Novelist Alex Garland also contributed to the project, which features two protagonists locked in a fight for survival in a post-apocalyptic future. In this fictional epoch, nearly the entire human race has been eradicated, but combat robots still plague the land. Although they are from a bygone era, they are still following their orders to eradicate the humans. The game features two characters that are linked through obligation to one another -- if one character dies, the other, her slave, will forfeit his life as well.
In this video interview, developers from Ninja Theory and actor Andy Serkis talk about the challenges of making the game as well as their vision for the future of digital entertainment as a whole. Really interesting stuff!
