Crysis 2 Multiplayer Overview

There is no doubt that Crysis 2 is EA's biggest hit of the new year. In our quick overview we looked at the sales for the game but didn't touch base on how the actual game itself stacked up. With the success of Crysis as a PC exclusive it was only evident that EA released the follow up for Xbox 360 and PS3 as well. I had my chance to play both the PC and Xbox 360 version, and theres no turning back.
Before I jump right into the nit grit I want to say this game looks gorgeous. Hands down one of the best graphics wise games I have played to this date. While the PC version did look extremely better than the Xbox 360, that doesn't mean the console versions aren't equally as gorgeous. Colors are vibrant and loud showcasing ends of the rainbow you never knew existed. The shadows seem to work flawlessy as you move under trees and the suns rays glimpse off objects in the world.
With such extraneous graphics being put off by this game, the console version is most popular among all. Playing the PC version on the lowest graphical setting (which is high. no really. there is no low or medium settings) will require very up to date hardware. Hence why we see a bigger sales in console versions of the game, where all you need is a console. While like mentioned above, the pc version looks better, the console is more practical for the average gamer.
Now to the fun part, the actual game. I wanted to write up an overview of the multiplayer in Crysis 2 because I believe thats its strongest point. The single player is just as gorgeous as multiplayer and just as fun. But I sincerely believe the multiplayer is what will make this game what it is.
Open entering my first match on Crysis 2 it seemed like other FPS games I have played in the past few years, and this isn't a bad thing either. People like things that feel familiar to them, its just human nature. Chances are if you have played titles such as Call of Duty or Halo you will feel right at home. The game types are that of a typical online FPS. You have your Team Instant Action also known as team deathmatch to the other guy. Respectively a free for all version called Instant Action is available too.
For those who like objective based game types, Crysis 2 has those too. In the Crash Site game mode pods will crash in the map and both teams must capture energy from these downed alien pods while at the same time preventing the other team from doing the same. Capture the Relay is another game mode which holds the same rules as your typical Capture the Flag but with relays. If your a more hardcore gamer a mode called Assault is here where you have one life and must download data from terminals that are protected by black ops soldiers. Crysis 2 packs some familiar game modes with different twists which are all extremely fun and easy to pick up on.
With 12 maps at release and these game modes your bound to have plenty to do. All the maps are decently sized with your smaller maps, medium sized, and large. If that isn't enough, like most FPS games you earn XP from playing online. Getting kills, "killstreaks", and performing well will reward you with more XP. The more XP you get, the faster you level up and
