Atari Reveals Mini Cooper for Race Pro
Race Pro, the upcoming driving simulator from Atari, just got a new addition to its garage. Drivers will be able to get behind the wheel of a turbocharged Mini Cooper S when the game ships on February 17. The publisher has confirmed that the title has already gone gold, so that release date is set in stone. We are very excited to try out all of the cars in Race Pro, but the addition of the Mini is particularly sweet news to our ears.
Not only will drivers be able to try out the pint sized British classic, but they will be able to compete against other Minis in Class Challenge events. For the Mini Cooper Challenge, it was decided that a 180 horsepower, supercharged Mini Cooper S would be the vehicle of choice. The street legal version of this car is already a formidable track car, and in Race Pro, players can experience the real race car from bumper to bumper and all the close racing action that comes with it. According to developers, the Mini Cooper Challenge is one of the most exciting one-car classes.
This month has seen a major revival of the "Hot Hatch" category, with the release of GTI Club+ a week ago. That game also features overpowered pocket rockets like the Mini Cooper S.
