Gears of War 3: A game so big even the Campaign trailer gets a release date

Gamers be warned. The hype train isn't just leaving, pulling out of the station; it's exploding the station, surrounding buildings and everything in it's path. Gears of War 3, the final chapter in the Gears trilogy launches around the world on 20 September 2011. That's still another long four months away, but anticipation and excitement is building steadily with the game already boasting over one million pre-orders worldwide and with it, the boasting rights to the title of 'fastest selling Xbox exclusive in the history of the platform.

The countdown is well and truly on, and not just for the game. The Campaign trailer gets its own release date and advance publicity. The trailer makes it debut next weekend, scheduled to air during two blockbuster sporting events, Game 6 of the the NBA Playoffs on TNT in the US and on the other side of the Atlantic, during the UEFA Champions League Final Match to air around 9:45 BST.

Gears of War 3 may still be some months off, but is available for pre-order today in three distinct editions, Standard, Epic and Limited. What are you waiting for.
